Yes it is about time we as a country begin to recogised the ugly truth. Evry 1 in 3 women in Maldives is domestically abused: verball; physically; psycologically and sexually.
Now the thing that really disturbs me is that untill the sexual assult case in CHSE, recently no adult female or male has ever in the history of this country ever formally reported a sexual assult incident. We only hear of children who are sexually violated.
Now i feel ashamed firstly because i was not aware of this and secondly because i had no idea that our citizens do not recognise theses ugly truths. We all know that each and every night countless number of girls and women get sexually assulted and raped, which is why im so appalled that theses victims for whatever reasons do not report such crimes.
The main reason for not reporting might be that they are afraid that the authorities may not infact believe that such incidents happened without their consent afterall this is the outcome of the CHSE assult case aswell, where the authorities stood idle of the matter.
Now I cud go on and on about this very disturbing issue but I do know that readers will get bored of reading an extremely long article therefore im going to conclude it however, before i do I would like to say that Im planning to have a campaign about this issue and the fact that CHSE and the government allowed a rapist to leave the country without so far as convicting or even charging him for his immoral wrong doings so for all of you who are interested in helping victims of such immoral acts and to hear out their pain and fear pls let me know.

its a policy in our country to hide the truth....still the officials say that we are one hundred percent muslim country......may by name only...
These sort of things have been happening in this country always..but no body did anything...Govt authorities in my opinion has never done anything to prevent such crimes. In the day of Judgment Allah SWA will surely punish those who deserve it.
It's not the right way to stay till the judegement day. We need to ac..advoacte aswell fight..we need more human rights defenders in our country we need there rights aswell each individuls rights to be defended and protected by law and of all each and evryone needs to know their rights.
the maldivan goverment had commited them selfves in international comminities to protect our rights but in our soil most of our righst a simply violated, teh white sandy beaches has a hidden blood on it.
Hey Guys i really appreciate u supporting my idea..
you're right! this is the ugly truth. but another ugly truth is that if anyone stands up and tries to do anything about it, they end up in a cell! and get beaten until their bodies are broken, after which they will be released to the society with their reputation ruined!
the whole county might recognize the truth. but the question is, will they ever act upon it! the people of a country have the power to change it in anyway they want. as long as they act together!
but on this piece of land that we call a nation! most people are consumed with greed and will only take the side that pays them the most!
